St. Mark Lutheran Church is a group of Christians gathered around Word and Sacraments in Duncanville, Texas (on the south side of Dallas), proclaiming Christ crucified and risen to the world!
We hold the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the sole rule, judge, and norm of our faith and doctrine because they are the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God.
We hold to the three solas of the Reformation as our guiding principles:
- Sola Gratia — We believe that sinners are saved by grace alone through the work of Jesus Christ on our behalf. “For it is by grace you have been saved…” (Eph. 2:8ff).
- Sola Fide — We believe that it is only by faith in the work of Jesus Christ — true God, begotton from all eternity, and also true man, born of the Virgin Mary — that sinners are saved from eternal death in hell.
- Sola Scriptura — We believe that the Holy Scriptures, the Bible, are the inspired Word of God and the only source of wisdom, strength, comfort, teaching, and instruction for life — not human reason, not experience, not Tradition, or manmade laws.
We also subscribe to the The Book of Concord , the Lutheran Confessions, not as a rule, judge, and norm for our life on a par with the Scriptures, but because they are correct expositions of what the Old and New Testaments teach.
We believe that confessions like those found in the The Book of Concord are necessary because there are so many different interpretations of the Bible we hold in common, and so we must confess what we believe.
We are a congregation in confessional fellowship with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
We’re located at 610 N. Cedar Ridge Road, Duncanville, TX, about a mile south of Interstate 20 and kitty-corner from Duncanville High School.
You can contact St. Mark or Pastor Tomczak at 972-298-0891.

Hello,
I attended St. Marks School back in the 70″s. Is the school still open?
Thanks,

Angel ~
Greetings in Jesus’ name! Unfortunately the school is not currently opened. It closed in the 1990s.
It would be wonderful to offer Christian and Lutheran education once again in the Duncanville area and I keep it on my list of “To-Dos” for the long term future of St. Mark.
Thanks for asking! Stop by any time!
Grace and peace,
Pastor Benjamin Tomczak

Hi Pastor. My husband and I currently attend at Shepherd of the Valley in Westminster, CO. I am writing because we will be traveling through Texas in Nov. and was wondering if you still do Wed. Night services. If so, what time?
Thanks,

Thanks for your question!
Yes, we do have Wednesday evening services. They start at 6:30pm. And just in case you’re wondering, the Lord’s Supper is offered on the Wednesdays preceding the 1st and 3rd Sundays of a month.
Depending on when you’ll be here in November, I’ll just let you know that for Thanksgiving we do the Thanksgiving Eve service, so that will also be on Wednesday evening — November 24, 6:30pm.

Hi again Pastor. We will be there on the 10th so I guess we will also be there for the Lord’s Supper. Looking forward to seeing your church and meeting some of your members. Have a blessed weekend.

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your site. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Great work!

Hi, I just got to your sight by chance. My name is Martin Ntambo – In 2001 I was at Summer Institute for Linguistics (SIL) for three months and I was attending the worship services every Sunday. I was being picked by Mrs Kassebaum. I am a member of Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church in Malawi under Lutheran Church of Central Africa which is a sister synod of WELS. I always have fond memories of your congregation. The members made me feel at home.

Thanks for the kind words! I have heard about you from Jerry and Dorcas (the Kassebaums). Blessings to you and your congregation and the LCCA!
Blessed Epiphany!
